Tell us a little bit about your small press, such as it's original history.

Although I have been producing small press books for almost a decade, Repeating Pig Press was created as a vehicle to launch my first children's novel, Evil King. When a press that I had a contract with wanted to produce a much poorer version of my novel than I had envisioned, I chose to break off and do it alone (and am very happy for it, as my book came out beautiful) and the press was born.

What does being part of the small press community mean to you?

I suppose that being part of the small press community means having freedom and control of your work. With the narrow scope/views/requirements of the children's publishing industry at large (especially Canadian...come on, you know what I mean) this is very important. The down side is that it also means a lack of distribution, which only large press can support.

What inspired you to start your own small press?

I have always liked creating books and am a bit of a control freak when it comes to what kinds of paper gets used. lol. The indie world is a great place and much more interesting than traditional publishing. Again, it allows freedom of creativity.

What projects are you currently working on?

I am currently writing my second novel and a collection of children's verse, which I hope to continue to continue using Repeating Pig Press for!
